When I was born, there was a tiny flaw in my body. It was undetectable. Yet, it would have a large impact on my life.
Serious hearing impairment affects about 1 out of 1000 children aged 3–10 years. We are born with about 15,000 cochlea hair cells.
In my case, the cochlea hair cells were slowly dying, one after the other. And there was no cure, even as of today.
I have split my journey into four stages. There are a lot of details we can and will talk about. I’ll try to stay high-level but please feel free to ask your questions by reaching out on LinkedIn.
Before we continue, I'd like to emphasis that every journey is unique. If my story may help you understand some aspects of being hard of hearing and deaf, each hearing impairment is different in its manifestation, experience, and management.
Onwards.
